Welcome to Localis — a blog where architecture, ideas, and cultures collide. This isn’t just another random corner of the internet; it’s a vibrant, dynamic space, as real and relatable as it gets, designed to connect the new generation with topics that truly matter — no boring stuff allowed.
For us, architecture isn’t just about pretty buildings or lines on a blueprint. It’s about creating possibilities and memories, sparking interactions, and transforming spaces into places that hold meaning in people’s lives. A space is just built geometry. A place? That’s where the story begins — it’s history, connection, and emotion.
At Localis, we believe knowledge should be accessible, empathetic, and authentic. We blend theory with practice, always keeping a human touch. Here, the conversation is fluid and informal, yet never loses the depth where it counts. Our motto? Helping you see that architecture and design are just as much about people as they are about forms.
about localis
It all started in 2020, when Rita Patron and Fernando Sincero decided to give a reboot to their blog O Lugar da Arquitetura (The Place of Architecture), which they had launched back in 2018 as an educational content hub. But we wanted something bigger, more connected, and with a global vibe — something that said: Beyoncé. The goal was clear: make architecture a conversation with the world.
Originally written in Portuguese and published exclusively in Brazil, the blog took on a new perspective in 2019 when Fernando moved to Italy to continue his studies. That’s when the idea of translating the content into Italian came up, expanding its reach and bringing fresh perspectives.
But the original name (O Lugar da Arquitetura) didn’t work outside the Brazilian context. And so, Localis was born: a universal, accessible name with purpose. Because, in the end, architecture is about places, and places are about people.
how it all began
Now, Localis spans two countries:
-
Localis Brazil, staying true to our tropical roots.
-
Localis Italy, diving into the Mediterranean universe.
But we’re not stopping there. Our goal is to expand even further, always bringing a global vision with a local touch. That’s why Localis is also available in English.
our growth
The new generation doesn’t want boring, complicated, or inaccessible content. We get it. That’s why Localis offers a fresh and approachable take on architecture, design, and culture. Here, you’ll find quick, engaging, and empathetic insights.
Our focus is simple: to show you that architecture isn’t just about technique or aesthetics — it’s about the people who inhabit spaces. We want you to see how design transforms stories and how humanity lies at the heart of everything we create.
